December
December's at the Industrial Technologies class room
included topics on
part IV of Beginning Inventor, sweeps and lofts. Allen Gager along
with Chad and John of Industrial Technologies shared on their
experiences at Autodesk University.
November
November's meeting
was again held at the Industrial Technologies class room. Topics
were a continuation of Palettes in AutoCAD 2006/2007 and Beginning
Inventor.
October
October's meeting
was held at Industrial Technologies classroom and was focused on a
single topic. This was the second session in the introduction to
Inventor. There were new things fore each of us. Troy showed us
how to miter corners in the sheet metal portion, Allen showed how
the positive direction of workplanes were colored differently than
the negative, and many more. Thank you to IT for the pizza and
drinks.
September
Thank you to
Homestead High School for allowing us to meet in your CAD Lab.
Topics for the night were an introduction to the new AMUG that
will co-exist with DRAW to meet the needs or our users. We also
looked at an introduction to palettes in AutoCAD. That may well be
the easiest way to customize AutoCAD yet! In Inventor we looked at
some basic skills in creating parts and a quick look at using
surfaces to control constraints of gears. Way cool Allen. Thanks.
August
We had a look at
Inventor's Frame Generator and how it can be used to create the
main framework of machines. Thanks Ed. On the AutoCAD side of
things we took a look at some of the BLOGS available via the
Autodesk web site. We also took a look at the JOIN command. This
is a nifty little tool that can same a lot of step if you need to
make a single entity out of several collinear lines or concentric
arcs with equal radii.
July
We took the month
off due to the number of persons away from town.
June
A look at the new
features in Inventor 11 (part 2) and AutoCAD 2007 (part 2). We
also covered a crash course in getting your system ready for
Inventor R11 and installing Inventor R11. There are many "gotchas"
that can creep up, so the night was a great one for those getting
ready for the install. We looked at part libraries, content
center, and project files.
May
A look at the new
features in Inventor 11 (part 1) and AutoCAD 2007 (part 1). Allen
Gager will also be presenting a lesson on shared sketches in
Inventor.
April
An easy night out
for members at Bandidos while the dealers are in class for the new
releases. Dinner was good and there was a lot of informal
discussions solving a number of issues for users.
March
Dennis Jeffrey
offered to host the March meeting at his new Mexican eatery on the
south side of Fort Wayne called Larados. The meal was quite good.
Thank you Dennis.
February
Industrial
Technologies played host for this meeting. Topics were new Baby
Steps topic by Allen Gager and a look at some items in AutoCAD
2006 in review.
January
Our first DRAW
meeting of 2006 was held at Industrial Technologies. Thanks for
the pizza and drinks guys. We looked at some of the Inventor
modeling commands that are not used as often as extrude and sweep.
We looked at Ribs, Splits, and Face Drafts.
We also went over
some of the highlights and shared hot tips that were discovered at
Autodesk University 2005. Cool stuff there!
We gave away lots of
free stuff from CADOPOLIS.com, Autodesk, and things Byron picked
up at Autodesk University.
